In Mensa, there are many ways to be recognized as the best. From community service to esoteric cultural knowledge, from writing a groundbreaking essay to creating a l33t home page -- through one program or another, you could be recognized nationally for your efforts.
Here's a list of those designated the Best of Mensa over the last couple of years. More "Best of..." programs are in the development stage; if you have any good ideas, please contact the National Office.

Local groups participate in any local community enrichment activity they choose. Mensa encourages groups to share their experiences and ideas with other groups around the nation. Awards are given annually.

Foundation Awards
Part of the Mensa Education and Research Foundation's efforts to identify and foster human intelligence for the benefit of humanity involves encouraging research into the characteristics and uses of intelligence. Several awards programs have been established to recognize this research and efforts to publicize its results.
Foundation Scholarships
The Mensa Education & Research Foundation scholarship program is very large in the geographic area it covers — usually about 75% of the United States; the number of applications — approximately 4,000 to 6,000 in recent years; and the amount of money available for awards — nearly $60,000 this past year. With the exception of support provided by the Foundation Director and American Mensa's National Office staff, approximately 400 volunteers around the country manage the program.
Group of the Year Awards (GOTYAs)
