Arlington, Texas (June 14, 2004) – What are the odds that you could be a member of Mensa, the high IQ society? One in a thousand? One in a million?
Actually the odds are much better. One in fifty people qualifies for membership in Mensa.
On Saturday, July 3, American Mensa is placing its bets on Las Vegas. In conjunction with the group’s Annual Gathering, American Mensa will be offering its admission test at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel. Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m. and the test will begin at 9:30 a.m.
The test will take approximately two hours to complete. The test fee is $30 and test takers must show photo identification when they register. The Mensa Admission Test is open to anyone age 14 and older, but parental permission is required for those younger than 18. Test takers will receive a day pass to the convention.
Two tests featuring questions involving logic and deductive reasoning make up the Mensa Admission Test. Those scoring at or above the 98th percentile on one of the tests qualify for membership in Mensa.
Many people have already taken a test that qualifies them for membership in Mensa. Over 200 standardized intelligence tests are accepted for membership. A partial list is available at www.previous.us.mensa.org/joinmensa.
American Mensa is an organization open to anyone who scores in the top two percent of the general population on an accepted, standardized intelligence test. For more information about the organization visit www.previous.us.mensa.org.
