Arlington, Texas (Sept. 10, 2004) – Amid this fall’s new season of reality shows and campaign ads, Mensa will be offering Americans the chance to put on their thinking caps and test their intelligence.
On Saturday, Oct. 16, American Mensa, the high IQ society, will hold its annual National Testing Day. Local Mensa groups across the country will administer the Mensa Admission Test at more than 150 test sites on that day. A list of test sites may be found at www.previous.us.mensa.org.
Anyone who scores in the top two percent on the Mensa Admission Test will be invited to join the organization. The test is open to anyone age 14 and older, but parental permission is required for anyone age 14-17. The test fee is $30.
Many people have already taken a test that qualifies them for membership in Mensa. Over 200 standardized intelligence tests are accepted for membership. These tests include the Stanford-Binet, GRE*, and GMAT. A partial list of accepted tests and scores may be found at www.previous.us.mensa.org.
American Mensa is an organization open to anyone who scores in the top two percent on an accepted, standardized intelligence test. The organization has more than 50,000 members in the United States and more than 100,000 members around the world. Members of Mensa attend local and national events, join special interest groups such as astronomy and philosophy, and help out in their communities through various projects. For more information about Mensa, or to apply for membership, visit www.previous.us.mensa.org or call (800) 66-MENSA.
