American Mensa Mind Games®
April 15-17, Tampa, FL
|
Arlington, Texas (March 22, 2005) – On April 15-17, more than 150 members of Mensa will gather in Tampa for the 16th annual Mind Games® competition, which will be sponsored by MSN Search.
During this three-day gaming marathon, members will play and rate about 50 of the year’s newest board games. At the end of the weekend, scores will be tallied and five games will be named Mensa Select® and may display the Mensa Select seal on their games.
“Mind Games is an intense event,” said Jack Woodhead, chief judge of the competition. “Each Mensa judge will play at least 30 board games in less than 48 hours. The games are judged on several items including aesthetics, the clarity of the instructions, and whether the game is good value. The judges take their task very seriously because they want people to trust the Mensa Select seal as a tool to help them find games that are original and fun.”
Past Mind Games winners include Apples to Apples, Tri-Bond, Taboo and Scattergories.
American Mensa is an organization open to anyone who scores in the top two percent on an accepted, standardized intelligence test. More information about the organization may be found at www.previous.us.mensa.org.
