Arlington, Texas (July 13, 2005) – American Mensa, the high IQ society, has named four historical figures to the organization’s Hall of Fame.
Marie Sklodowska Curie, Euclid, Louis Pasteur and William Shakespeare are being recognized by the organization for their remarkable vision and accomplishments. Hall of Famers are nominated by members of American Mensa and voted on by a panel of Mensans from across the country.
“We include people in our Hall of Fame who have given the world new insights, opened up new horizons or created new ways of looking at the world,” said Gabe Werba, chair of the Hall of Fame judging panel. “By acknowledging the genius of these individuals, we hope to inspire others to create and innovate.”
This year’s inductees join Nicolas Copernicus, Charles Darwin, Thomas Edison, Albert Einstein, Benjamin Franklin, Galileo Galilei, Leonardo da Vinci, Isaac Newton, Socrates and Nikola Tesla in the Hall of Fame. More information about all of the Hall of Fame members may be found at www.halloffame.us.mensa.org.
Mensa is an organization open to anyone who scores in the top two percent on an accepted, standardized intelligence test. For more information about the organization, visit www.previous.us.mensa.org or call 800-66-MENSA.
